Wenatchee School of Karate

Getting Started

1. Schedule Your First Lesson

Your first lesson, regardless of age, is an assessment, or evaluation, of where you’re at physically, cognitively, and level of readiness. This last point is especially important with younger students.

We will take you through a series of exercises to assess your physical conditioning. Then we’ll start you on some basic martial arts skills that will help us evaluate your balance, coordination and learning style. This is all designed to help us develop the best plan for you moving forward.

This 30-Minute Assessment is $30.

2. The Next Steps

Once you’ve scheduled your first lesson, there are a couple of things you’ll need to do next.

First, because we have such limited spots available for assessments each week, we ask that you pre-pay for the one you just scheduled. Follow this link to the MAKE A PAYMENT page and follow the directions there. About half way down the item list is the one you want… “(1) 30-Minute Assessment for One,” unless, of course, you scheduled for two or three members of the same family. Then choose accordingly.

Secondly, if you have the ability to print the REGISTRATION FORM, please do so. Filling it out to bring with you, will save you a little time when you get here. If this is not an option, please allow extra time to complete a registration form upon arrival at the dojo.

3. Final Thoughts

  • One of our owner/instructors is a cancer patient currently undergoing chemotherapy. We are still asking that anyone coming into the building wears a face mask. Thank you!
  • Let me apologize in advance for the lack of parking  in the neighborhood. Some recent tenant additions have taxed an already challenging situation. However, knowing this upfront can save you some frustration by allowing yourself plenty of time to make your appointment. There is street parking when available; we also have a small lot at the north end of our building (don’t park too close to the railroad tracks). Please DO NOT park in the business complex lot across the street from us.
  • For the assessment, wear something loose and comfortable that you can move freely in. You will be working out barefoot. If you have podiatry problems, please don’t hesitate to discuss that with us.
  • If you have any questions, or concerns, please feel free to contact us to discuss them.
